The Algarve is a golfer’s heaven, all year round.

Find any destination where the weather is year round delightful, incredibly sunny (3000 hours per year), the scenery is eye catching and beautiful, the atmosphere is laid back and easy going, and the likelihood is there will be golf nearby.

Portugal’s Algarve region is such a place.

Enjoying one of the most attractive shorelines to be found anywhere in Europe, The Algarve is 150 miles of small coves, bays and inlets, all with pristine, golden sand beaches, constantly washed by the surf of a crystal clear Atlantic Ocean. The setting is idyllic and the more than 30 quality golf courses that call The Algarve home, fit perfectly into the picture.

If you need another good excuse to experience these fantastic golf courses, authentic natural sceneries of beauty and tranquillity, the Algarve has been considered World Best Golf Destination by International Association of Golf Tour Operators.

Please, don’t let the landscape interfere in your handicap…

…And they’re just a few miles away from Herdade da Corte, so you can chose any one of these Golf courses:

Designed by Rocky Roquemore, the course takes advantage of the beautiful natural setting with the Atlantic Ocean as its southern boundary. It is built on flattish terrain, including several man-made lakes, and hundreds of old olive and carob trees have been transplanted to provide natural hazards.

This sister course to Quinta da Ria is set in rolling land dotted with almond trees. It provides open fairways, well placed bunkers and enough water to attract the odd misdirected golf ball.

Players will enjoy some of the best mountain – to the nearby hills of Barrocal- and sea views the Algarve has to offer. But maybe the most enjoyable of all is a construction-free golf course within the peaceful surrounding of a former farm.

This golf course has breath-taking mountain, river and sea views, all part of the spectacular scenery to be enjoyed by those wishing to take walks merely throughout the surrounding countryside. The three 9-hole golf courses “Grouse”, “Atlantic” and “Guadiana” can be combined to two great 18-hole courses, designed to give pleasure to any level of golfer.

This executive 9-holes golf course opened in spring 2003, adding another quality golf facility to the Eastern Algarve. The course incorporates 8 PAR 3 holes and one PAR 4 hole and is set in front of the hotel with magnificent views inland and to the sea.

The par 72 championship course, built to USGA specifications, is a truly unique design, meandering over 70 hectares of gently rolling hills and valleys. With water coming into play through the eleventh to the eighteenth hole, the course features a testing series of eight par-4s, five par-3s and five par-5s in a challenging and distinctive layout.
